How platemethodpics can help you.

Updated: Dec 8, 2023

At first glance, the plate method seems like an easy concept. Divide your plate in a way that increases vegetables while controlling portions. Then mix and match your favorite foods in each section.

Plate Method FAQs

While the strategy promotes flexibility, patients are quick to point out its challenges. Frequently asked questions include: How do you apply this in breakfast when you're in a rush for school or work? What about soups, stews, chili, or casseroles? How does this apply in different cultural cuisines? How does bread fit on the plate?

The Problem

As a health educator, I have spent years searching for plate method pics that address these questions. I have repeatedly spent hours scrolling through stock photography web sites, finding only a few suitable pictures. Images on other web sites are either copyright protected and/or unavailable in high resolution formats. While plate method materials are available for purchase, sometimes educators need to customize their own materials to meet the needs of their clientele.

The Solution

While writing my upcoming book, Think Like A Dietitian: A Nutrition Counseling Starter Kit (available March 2024), I needed more high quality photos. And if you want something done right....

I shopped, cooked, photographed, and edited so I can answer the range of questions I hear every day. And I've made these photos available to help other educators simplify meal planning for their clients.

Hence, platemethodpics.com was born. Woman-owned. Minority-owned. Dietitian-owned.
